‘The Party 2019: Live. Love Liban.’ raises $600k

There was plenty to love about the Buildcorp Foundation’s 2019 Fundraiser ‘The Party: Live. Love.Liban.’ on Saturday 9 March. Over 750 guests who are Buildcorp’s people, clients, partners, family and friends came together to help us raise over $600,000 for mental health at the home of Tony and Josephine Sukkar.

The theme of the night was ‘Liban’, a celebration of Lebanon, the Sukkar family’s ancestral home. The event featured Lebanese inspired food and drinks, traditional (and modern) Middle Eastern entertainment and surprise appearance by Sydney’s famous ‘Bearded Bakers’ whose popular food truck served Knafeh dessert to all the guests after an explosive musical introduction.

Thanks to a record number of event sponsors and Buildcorp staff volunteers on the night, the event costs were covered. The enables all the money raised to go directly to support the Foundation’s investments in mental health initiatives.

Our impact
Fundraising efforts from the events, Buildcorp’s Workplace Giving program and construction site BBQs have all enabled the Foundation to confirm a further $200,000 donation to Lifeline’s crisis services in 2019. 

Excitingly, the Foundation has also announced a significant investment in a preventative program called Smiling Mind that will help 100,000 children and 8,000 teachers across 400 schools learn foundational skills and mindfulness to build their resilience; more to come on this soon.
